The 2025–2026 Campaign Begins at Bioleft's Experimental Plot at UNSAM

On October 28, Elba and David carried out the tomato transplanting at the Bioleft plot located at UNSAM, kicking off a new participatory evaluation campaign. This year, the trial includes three varieties: NoMeOlvides, Carcione (platense variety), and #113 (cherry variety). The seedlings were sown and cared for by Elba in her nursery until reaching the optimal time for transplanting.

Prior to planting, the site was prepared by harvesting the broad beans that had grown there during the winter, removing the few emerged weeds, and incorporating compost to improve soil structure and fertility.

After evaluating different alternatives to guide tomato growth, it was decided to implement a simple "tent-style" structure, placing a cane for each plant to support its initial development.

With these initial tasks, the new experimental season at UNSAM was officially inaugurated, allowing us to continue learning and sharing knowledge around open seeds and agroecological management practices.
