Bioleft at Ciaciar, Second Argentine Congress on Open and Citizen Science

Next Friday, November 2, Bioleft will be part of the Second Argentine Congress on Open and Citizen Science #CIACIAR2018, organized by FUNDACION CENIT, Cientópolis, and the School of Economics and Business at the University of San Martín. The event will be held at the Central Library of the Miguelete Campus of the University of San Martín.

The 2018 edition of CIACIAR seeks to bring together different actors involved in open and citizen science, with the aim of developing initiatives to open up scientific knowledge. Anabel Marín, director of Bioleft, will speak about the strategic importance of seeds for development and the need to generate an ecosystem of open innovation and participatory improvement in agriculture. This will take place during the opening talks at 9 a.m.

The meeting provides a space for exchange for scientists, researchers, students, and science and technology communicators. The aim is to share experiences and discuss opportunities and challenges in relation to how to carry out open and citizen science practices in Argentina. Specialists in the interaction between science, technology, society, education, and open systems will participate, such as Agostina Mileo (Economía Femini(s)ta), Anabel Marin (Bioleft), Gabriel Gellon (Expedición Ciencia), Alejandro Nadra (TecnoX), Guadalupe Nogués, Martín de Ambrosio, Guillermina Actis, Ivonne Lujano, Guillermina D’Onofrio, Diego Torres, and Mariano Fressoli, among others.

The morning will be dedicated to opening talks. From midday onwards, there will be a poster exhibition and street fair, and in the afternoon, workshops. You can read the full program here.
