At Bioleft, we are pleased with Congress’s insistence on the University Financing Law.
We are navigating a situation that affects the present and future of thousands of people: the drastic defunding of the national scientific and technological system.
We are concerned about:
The most affected organizations—CONICET, INTA, INTI, among others—are facing significant budget cuts that endanger the continuity of projects and research staff.
Research projects are stalled, infrastructure is deteriorating, and salaries are losing purchasing power.
💡 Why does this matter?
Science plays a central role in solving environmental challenges and strengthening technological sovereignty, innovation, and production. When funding is radically reduced:
- The ability to generate local solutions adapted to our realities (health, climate, technologies) is slowed down.
- The training of young scientists is weakened, as many of them migrate abroad in search of better opportunities.
- The continuity of lines of research that took years to build is also lost.
That is why, today more than ever, we celebrate the union of workers in the scientific and educational system, and we invite all of civil society to protect our rights, the rights of young people in urban and rural areas.
