Bioleft was on the radio

On August 5th, Bioleft was on the radio.

María Laura Bravo, a member of Bioleft and also professor, researcher, and extension agent at the Faculty of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences of the National University of La Plata (UNLP), participated in the program Bicivilizados on radiocolmena.com.

During the interview, the conversation focused mainly on the Participatory Open Tomato Seed Improvement Program, promoted by Bioleft in coordination with public institutions, agroecological cooperatives, and gardeners from different regions of the country.

María Laura explained the problems of a concentrated and homogeneous seed market and how this initiative seeks to rescue the diversity and heterogeneity of a crop as deeply rooted in Argentine food culture as the tomato.

She also described how the program works, strengthening a distributed network for the evaluation and conservation of native varieties, as well as the different ways in which interested individuals can participate.

We appreciate and celebrate this new opportunity to share our work.
